Social Media & Me - 2Q2019
The 2Q2019’s Social Media activity results were mixed. My primary blog did not reach it’s targeted impressions during any month of the quarter. My primary Twitter account exceed targeted goals with ease in every month. The other measure of influence - how well I provide a platform for advertisers, remained unchanged for the entire quarter at $16.75.
Twitter
2Q2019 began with 640 followers. Three months later I had 638 followers on Twitter. At the end of the 2nd quarter of 2019 I was following 338 accounts.

For 2019 I have severa ideas for Special Issues to add to my regular monthly language postings.
- Top 10 most frequently appearing characters in the main vocabulary.
- Cumulative 2014-2018 Tech & telecom, culture corner, & finance terms. That’s 8 Special Issues on these 4 sub-topics. 4 topics X 2 languages = 8 Special Issues
- Special subtopic editions such as (i) Industry names in Chinese, (ii) software terms, (iii) STEM & chemicals, (iv) banking terms, (v) stocks, (vi) central banker terms -- a catch all for finance terms.
Each of these Special Editions would be accompanied by a listing of all the year’s TTFM posts
End Times for Vocabulary Blogging
Because myblog did not reach its traffic targets 1Q2019 and that I plan to terminate the blog on 1 January 2022, starting in 2Q2019 I will publish new posts in April, June, August, October, and December. Each of these months will have a new Japanese vocabulary set and a new Chinese vocabulary set. Special edition blog postings will be delivered on an irregular basis.
If my average monthly blog impressions for April 2019 to December 2019 is below 2,000/month, then in 2020 I will begin posting vocabulary list on a quarterly basis in 2020. For the 2Q2019 the average monthly visits were only 432/month.

My Kred score increased from 724/6 at the start of the quarter to 727/6 at the end of the quarter.
2019 KPI Targets
- Monthly 17,400+ Twitter Impressions
- Grow Twitter followers to 675 while increasing the ratio of Followers-to-Following to 1.9.
- Monthly 2,000+ impressions for the Tech Telecom Marketing & Finance blogger
- Create & post on YouTube 5 East Asian Language learning videos
- Create & post on YouTube 5 other times
