Me & Social Media - March 2018

Social Media & Me - March 2018
March 2018’s Social Media activity targets results were poort. The bullet pointed highlights are
  • Twitter target missed
  • Blogger target missed
  • Klout score fell
The other measure of influence -- how well I provide a platform for advertisers, I see that my life-long Adsense earnings increased by 3¢ to US$13.10.
Twitter
March 2018 began with 617 followers and ended with 620 followers. At month end I was following 349 accounts. 68 tweets in March 2018 tweets generated 16.2K impressions.

Japanese & Chinese Terminology Tweets

March 2018 demonstrated the contrapositive result that more vocabulary flashcard tweets generates more traffic to the blog. So, my April 2018 experiment will be a mini-wave of cards focused at the end of the month.
If the April test is successful, I will follow a pattern of back loading each month May-October 2018 with new vocabulary cards. In November 2018, I would prepend new terms onto the next big wave.
My next big wave of late November to March begins returns for year 3 of postings in November.

Instagram
The size of my Instagram following ended February 2018 with 2,391. My feed had least 3 posts every 2 days over the month. Based on low like numbers, I have found my Instagram followers do not have interests with statues.
What my Instagram Audience Likes
Likes
Not as well liked
  1. Bonsai, brightly lit
  1. Artsy bonsai photography
  2. Long range grouping of bonsais; close range groupings are fine.
  3. Statues
  4. Furniture
I determine subject matter “Like” as what my followers regularly provide over 100+ likes for that content type.

Ouch, that looks like bad, if my objective is to have more views.
For mid-2018 I have a several ideas for Special Issues to add to my regular monthly language postings.
  • 2017 Top 10 most frequently appearing characters in the main vocabulary.
  • Cumulative 2017 Tech & telecom, culture corner, & finance terms. That’s 8 Special Issues on these 4 sub-topics. 4 topics X 2 languages = 8 Special Issues
  • Special subtopic editions such as (i) Industry names in Chinese, (ii) software terms, (iii) chemicals, (iv) banking terms, (v) stocks, (vi) central banker terms -- a catch all for finance terms.
Each of these Special Editions would be accompanied by a listing of all the year’s TTFM posts

The point of it All

The point of all this social media activity is to raise my professional profile. My 2018 target is a Klout Score of 60+. My Klout score decreased to 53.44 from 52.92 over the month of March.
In what I still find odd is that my Kred score, a second social media influence measurement tool, continued to increased in March 2017 to 710/6
2018 KPI Targets

Goals

  1. Monthly 17,200+ Twitter Impressions
  2. Grow Twitter followers to 700 while increasing the ratio of Followers-to-Following from 1.8.
  3. Monthly 2,001+ impressions for the Tech Telecom Marketing & Finance blogger
  4. Continue the 1 or more Instagram posts/day.
Along with the Non-KPI of hitting 2.5K followers on Instagram during 2017.

  6. Create & post on YouTube 10 times
  7. Reach a Klout score of 60 during 2018.
A non-KPI is to track my kred score along with the Klout score and what the correlation might be.
