Social Media & Me - November 2017
November 2017’s Social Media activity targets were missed. The month saw a collapse in Twitter impressions and blog post impressions.
The bullet pointed highlights are
- Twitter impressions missed their target by a wide margin
- Blogger impressions did not make their targeted goal by a wide margin
- My Klout score held steady for half the month and then suffered a large decline, which I suspect was due to a lack of Instagram likes.
The other measure of influence -- how well I provide a platform for advertisers, I see that my life-long Adsense earnings increased by 1¢ to US$12.95.
November 2017 began with 566 followers and ended with 580 followers. At month end I was following 339 accounts. 53 tweets in November 2017 tweets generated 9.2 K impressions. One more tweet than October 2017 accompanied by a 20%+ decline in impressions.
With the year nearly over, I still need an net increase of 20 followers to meet my year-end target. To reach the target, I will be initiating more “follows” with the hopes of “follow backs.”

The 6th wave of language e-flashcards begins soon!
The 6th wave is presently schedule to begin 2 December 2017 and continues through to nearly the end of February 2018. New material will be added to the end of the wave for the purpose of extending the duration of the wave and continued twitter & blogger traffic.
The tweets of pre-existing materials are scheduled to repeat in 2018, 2019, and 2020. New 2017 material will repeat in 2018-2021.
The size of my Instagram following ended November 2017 with 2,297. My feed had least 3 posts every 2 days over the month. Based on low like numbers, I have found my Instagram followers do not have interests with statues.

YouTube
No videos were posted in November. I am electing to cease the intent of posting my YouTube videos in 2017, so that I may post more in 2018. That means doing some work in 2017 and waiting until 2018 to push out the information.

For early 2018 I have a several ideas for Special Issues to add to my regular monthly language postings.
- 2017 Top 10 most frequently appearing characters in the main vocabulary.
- Cumulative 2017 Tech, telecom, culture corner, & finance terms. That’s 8 Special Issues on these 4 sub-topics. 4 topics X 2 languages = 8 Special Issues
- Special subtopic editions such as (i) Industry names in Chinese, (ii) software terms, (iii) chemicals, (iv) banking terms, (v) stocks, (vi) central banker terms -- a catch all for finance terms.
Each of these Special Editions would be accompanied by a listing of all the year’s TTFM posts
The point of it All
The point of all this social media activity is to raise my professional profile. My 2017 target is a Klout Score of 63+. My Klout score dropped to 58.68 on 30 November 2017. On 31 October the score was 61.34.
In what I still find odd is that my Kred score, a second social media influence measurement too, increased in November 2017 to 700/6
2017 KPI Targets
- Monthly 20,001+ Twitter Impressions
- Grow Twitter followers to 600+ while increasing the ratio of Followers-to-Following from 1.611.
- Monthly 2,001+ impressions for the Tech Telecom Marketing & Finance blogger
- Continue the 1 or more Instagram posts/day. Along with the Non-KPI of hitting 2K followers on Instagram during 2017. To reach such a goal around 2 accounts/day would need to follow me.
- Create & post on YouTube 10 East Asian Language learning videos.
- Create & post on YouTube 10 Botanical and/or Art Exhibition videos.
- Create & post on YouTube 10 Telecommunication business themed videos.
- Create & post on Blogger & LinkedIn 10 Tech-Telecom-Marketing-Finance.
- Reach a Klout score of 63 during 2017. A non-KPI is to track my kred score along with the Klout score and what the correlation.
