Social Media & Me - July 2017
July 2017’s results were not great.
The bullet pointed highlights are
- Twitter impressions met their target only through a late month run of higher than typical impressions/tweet.
- Blogger impressions reached their target
- The 2017 Klout target continued to fall
The other measure of influence -- how well I provide a platform for advertisers, I see that my life-long Adsense earnings remained unchanged at US$12.53.
July 2017 began with 536 followers and ended with 558 followers. At month end I was following 322 accounts. 98 tweets July 2017 tweets generated 20.6 K impressions.

Japanese & Chinese Terminology Tweets
Between now and the 6th wave of language e-flashcards I will not seek another string of consecutive days for flashcard tweets. The focus will be on creating a new card, tweeting it, and prepending the tweet to the 6th wave’s list in order to bring about the 6th wave earlier in 2017.
The 6th wave is presently schedule to begin 15 December 2017 and continues through the nearly the end of February 2018.
The tweets of pre-existing materials are scheduled to repeat in 2018, 2019, and 2020. New 2017 material will repeat in 2018-2021.
The size of my Instagram following grew to 2,121 from 2,210. A net gain of 89 followers during July. My feed had least 3 posts every 2 days over the month.

The point of it All
The point of all this social media activity is to raise my professional profile. My 2017 target of a Klout Score of 63+. My score began at 60.01 at the end of June. It fell in July. It fell alot. The score finished the month at 57.81.
While my Klout score fell my kred scores rose to an influence of 693 out of 1,000 and a outreach of 6 out of 10. July 2017 is the third straight month where my kred score increased while my klout score fell.
While this is only 3 data points, it does indicate that the two Social Media influence measuring sites don’t map the same factors. Specifically, kred attempts to measure my Facebook and Twitter influence, while Klout measure the previous two sites plus Instagram, Blogger, Flickr, and Yammer.
